NAME-OF-PROGRAM:, NAME-OF-HARDWARE, OT:, TEST:
All posts sent to the 3D ARK Mailing List must include a subject key of some kind. There are only "9" subject keys at this time, plus the name (or abbreviation) of your software or hardware.
Any discussions dealing specifically with the topics listed below must include the key words in the subject header. Subject keys are not
intended to add confusion or make posting to the list complicated. Instead they are necessary when dealing with a list dealing with such a
wide range of possible topics. Also, proper subject titles make searching the public archive much easier.
SUBJECT KEYS: (Please note that the colon ":" is a part of every subject key.) If your post is software specific, please also include the name of the software in the subject line. (Abbreviations, they're obvious (ex: "3DSMax") are preferred.)
 INTRO: Your-Name Example Subject: (Intro: Zero Dean)
GEN: For any general 3D related posts or topics not covered by other subject keys.
Example Subject: (GEN: Is the gaming industry volatile?)
ANIM: For any Animation related posts.
Example Subject: (ANIM: Weight vs. Timing)
MOD: For any modeling related questions. (If your post is software specific, please also include the name of the software in the subject line.)
Example Subject: (MOD: Creating a head in 3DSMax)
TEX: For any texturing related posts.
Example Subject: (TEX: Seamless texture tips)
URL: A URL announcement or pointer. Use this if you are primarily directing subscribers to a specific web site.
Example Subject: (URL: Check out my Sci-Fi gallery)
EDU: For any posts related 3D education and schooling.
Example Subject: (EDU: Self-Education vs. Full Sail)
NAME-OF-PROGRAM: For any software specific posts.
Example Subject: (LW3D: Is the latest patch working?)
NAME-OF-HARDWARE: For any hardware specific posts.
Example Subject: (Monitor: Are Viewsonics worth the money?)
OT: Any off topic post (any post not remotely related to 3D, the industry, or of non-interest to 3D enthusiasts).
Example Subject: (OT: Star Trek Insurrection, Yuck!)
TEST: Any test sent to the list.
Example Subject: (Test: Ignore)
Note: Outside of mandatory subject headers, it is very important that people get used to appropriately titling their subject headers in accordance to what the post is about (even if it's off topic).
